Temperatures have definitely dipped this past week all across New Zealand. It sure is nice to see there is already snow in the mountains.. and lots of chatter about what potential the 2022 ski season holds.
This time last year I was expecting to have a beautiful set of performance quality merino knee socks ready for the 2021 ski seasons. The pressures Covid placed on manufacturing and shipping grounded that launch until mid-Spring. Never the less, it is now time to 'pull my socks up'.. and spread the word about the most colourful full length knee socks which are being knitted right here in New Zealand.
Available as matching pairs, or mismatched for an added bit of fun.. these beauties have been made using New Zealand grown merino, NuYarn© Technology, and a high performance Ski Sock Knitting Pattern. Fitted around the arch, fitted at the ankle, comfort fit around the calf, and a wide fitted cuff at the top which reaches to behind the knee when pulled up to full length.
I spent a lengthy amount of time up hills on foot, along trails, and commuting in morning frost as well as heavy rain on my bike wearing my Yank knee socks. Incredibly impressed at how they do not slide down my legs, or move around while being put through the paces... and doubly pleased at their thermal retention.
Knee socks and shorts might not be the done thing for some. I for one appreciate the freedom of movement this provides while out on my bike, especially when doing school drop off with a cargo bike.
Other updates that I should mention before signing off: Last month I stared a BOGO special for Crew Socks. This special has been extended until the end of June. So if you have been looking at padding out your sock drawer with some great quality New Zealand made [ as well as grown ] merino socks be sure to check them out in the online shop.
That is all for now. I hope you are having a fabulous week. 🙂
